In the glitzy realm of Bollywood, where success is often measured in the sparkle of box office numbers, Ranbir Kapoor's latest release, "Animal," has emerged as a roaring triumph, leaving an indelible mark on the cinematic landscape.

"Animal" has not only passed the dreaded Monday test with flying colours but has done so with "distinction marks." According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film's Monday earnings of just over ₹40 crore have etched a new record for the "biggest Monday ever." This stellar performance has propelled the Hindi version's domestic box office total to a staggering ₹216.64 crore, with regional dubs contributing an additional ₹29 crore, pushing the cumulative earnings beyond the ₹246 crore mark.

Taran Adarsh's observations about the film's "exceptional hold on a working day" hint at its potential to continue its triumphant run unchallenged until the arrival of the Christmas weekend. Furthermore, speculation is rife that "Animal" could join the elite 500 crore club, a prestigious group currently occupied by Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan" and "Pathaan," as well as Sunny Deol's "Gadar 2."

The film's success is not confined to Mondays alone. Taran Adarsh applauds the film's historic weekend collections, labeling it a cinematic tsunami. Despite carrying an 'A' certification, "Animal" amassed ₹70.69 crore on Sunday, with ₹63.46 crore from the Hindi version and ₹7.23 crore contributed by South-Indian languages.

However, the film's reception is not without its critics. SaibalChatterjee, writing for NDTV, gave "Animal" a modest 1.5 stars, criticizing the portrayal of the protagonist's behaviour as overly aggressive and lacking nuance.

One of the shining stars in "Animal" is Rashmika Mandanna, who has been receiving accolades for her performance. Mandanna, making her mark in Bollywood after her debut in "Goodbye" last year, expressed her gratitude on social media. Her co-star Alia Bhatt also joined the chorus of praise, declaring herself a part of the #Crushmika club and commending Mandanna's beauty and honesty on screen.

As "Animal" continues to dominate the box office, Taran Adarsh predicts that 2023 will be remembered as a landmark year in the history of Hindi cinema, with three films— "Pathaan," "Gadar 2," and "Jawan"—crossing the coveted ₹500 crore mark.

Overall, "Animal" stands not only as a cinematic powerhouse at the box office but also as a testament to the star power of Ranbir Kapoor and the rising talent of Rashmika Mandanna. As the film gallops ahead, leaving a trail of records in its wake, it cements its place as a blockbuster to be reckoned with in the annals of Bollywood history.
