India is all set to achieve the target of doubling the production of crude steel within the next decade, says PM Modi

New Delhi, 28 October, 2022: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the country is all set to achieve the target of nearly doubling the production of crude steel from 154 million tonnes to 300 million tonnes within the next decade. PM Modi was speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony for the expansion of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AM/NS) Hazira steel manufacturing facility in Gujarat over a video link.

“An investment of over ₹60,000 crore will create many employment opportunities for the youth of Gujarat and the country. Post expansion, the crude steel production capacity at Hazira Steel Plant will increase from 9 million tonnes to 15 million tonnes,” PM Modi said.
