“India has done it, India is behind it” narrative did not stop at the Air India Kanishka midair bombing in 1985 that killed 329 passengers and crew.  Pro-Khalistan elements are still trying to go with this self-plotted theory.  Be it the broad day light assassination of Ripudaman Singh Malik, once a prime accused in the Kanishka bombing, in Canada or more recent death of self-styled chief of designated terror outfit Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) due to cancer in the UK or killing of another wanted terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjer in Canada, the same narrative is peddled irrespective of what the police investigation says.  They have in fact mastered the art of concocting stories to suit their narrative and give it a colour of their choice.

Avtar Singh Khanda who died in Sandwell hospital in Birmingham UK on 15 June after he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia, a form of blood cancer and pulmonary embolisms (blood clots) was one of the prominent faces those holding protests against India in the UK.  He was the main orchestrator of the March 19 violence at the High Commission of India in London when the Indian National Flag was desecrated by scaling on to the balcony of the high commission building.  After India registered its strong protest with the UK government, some action by the UK authorities was seen in dealing with the extremist forces.

Even more than two months after his death, Khanda’s supporters have been creating stories after stories targetting India to cash in on his destructive ideologies.  Making unfounded allegations against India, they say that the cause of his death was poisoning.  The whole drama is being created by floating the mischievous theory to blame India for Khanda’s death.  These people are, in fact, well known for not sparing even dead ones to keep their politics alive.

The pro-Khalistan forces are unsparing even UK police by questioning it why Khanda’s post-mortem was not conducted.  NIA’s taking up the case and investigation into the 19 March violence at the High Commission of India building is also something being linked to his death! Allegations are also made that Khanda’s mother and sister were harassed by the police.  Some social media influencers who spoke on Khanda’s death are also put in the dock by them.

Given the history of these extremists’ campaigning and propounding violence and hatred against India while themselves being in foreign lands, there is nothing amusing in what they say or allege.  Meant to obfuscate facts and garner support for their noxious cause, they always tend to hold India responsible for anything that goes wrong.  Their well-thought-out strategy is meant to create an atmosphere of distrust against India.  They aim to tarnish India’s image by projecting it as a fascist, intolerant and anti-minority country.  Eulogising deaths or killings of terrorists, extremists and separatists is a potent tool they use to raise unaccounted money.  Fact is dead are more useful to them than the living ones! They mob together to peddle their planted stories to stay relevant and make their presence felt.  This has been going on for decades now.

After all who was Khanda? He was an asylum seeker in the UK who played critical role in radicalising Sikhs and led separatists’ movement in the name of creating a separate homeland for Sikhs in India. He was a close associate of Amritpal Singh. His father was a KLF terrorist who was gunned down by the Indian security forces in 1991 while his mother is a relative of another KLF terrorist Gurjant Singh Budhsingwala, who was killed in a police encounter in 1992.  Gurjant was accused of killing more than 1000 people in the act of terrorism.

Vulnerable lot is well advised to make themselves aware of the conspiracy theories that the pro-Khalistanis try to plant only to serve and promote their personal vested interests.  They have been dancing to the tunes of their masters who have their own axe to grind against India.  Welfare of the Sikh community is the last thing on their mind.  Their theory of “India has done it” is done and dusted.  Do not get misled.
